Welcome to the newest instalment of the Football Finds Affiliate Blog. In our blog, we look into the newest creators to join our affiliate scheme. Today we peel back the curtain on Smiffyjm, an online creator destined for greatness. With around 15 thousand followers across all platforms, Josh has what it takes to make it to the top. Josh doesn’t just create videos; he crafts stories, read by thousands all across the world.

From a young age

It all started at a very young age, when Josh was inspired by big creators like the Sidemen and the F2. Even as a child, those memories of watching trending creators at the time lit a spark in Josh, prompting the question many have asked before him: why can’t I be the next person to do that? Since then, Josh has kept his eyes set on content creation success.

As well as watching his favourite creators, Josh describes a key moment in his life that fuelled his drive to succeed. He recalls that the moment he knew he “needed to start making content” was sitting in his summer house during lockdown. He began by imitating content creators like Luke Davidson, soon shifting towards football-focused content. Josh revealed his face on social media at the age of 16, knowing then that he wanted to create content to support his budding interest in journalism. He also hoped to connect with industry leaders like Sky Sports and Talksport through his social channels.

Highlight of the journey

Ask Josh for his favourite moment, and there is a clear winner: being nominated for ‘Best Young Creator’ at the Football Content Awards. A feat many dream of but few achieve, this nomination highlights Josh’s impressive drive and ability to reach ambitious goals. He describes seeing his name on the big screen in front of major media outlets like The Athletic and Sky Sports as surreal. It was also a key moment where he realised the potential of recording himself on a phone.

Advice for the next generation

When asked for tips for the next generation of content creators, Josh offered some excellent advice. He suggests studying top-performing creators and adapting their structure while making content your own. He encourages young creators to reach out to others; online creators are often very supportive, even if real-world support can sometimes feel limited. Josh also stresses the importance of consistency: each post brings you closer to that one breakout moment every small creator dreams of. He advises not to pursue content creation for fame or money, joking that the only time you should aim for a trophy is on the football field.

On the horizon 

Josh is highly driven and clearly states his ambition to pursue social media full-time, something nearly every creator dreams of. He sees himself collaborating with big names and, if luck allows, creating content for his favourite team, Liverpool FC. At Football Finds, we believe Josh will easily reach these goals and likely surpass them. Josh prefers not to put a ceiling on his aspirations, instead focusing on what’s next. He also hopes to find more time to pursue his ultimate dream of becoming a journalist. He leaves us with a powerful message:
