I’m Lewis, the owner of Football Finds.
Football Finds is still a small independent football shirt business, which means there isn’t a huge team working behind the scenes. At the moment, there is only very few of us who source the shirts, check stock, update the website, pack orders, replying to messages, creating content and generally doing whatever needs doing to keep everything moving.
I wanted to write this properly because there’s quite a big difference between buying a football shirt from a faceless website and knowing who is actually behind the business you’re ordering from.
Why Football Finds Exists
Football shirts have become much more than something you wear to a match.
For some people, they remind them of a particular season. For others, it’s a player they grew up watching, a shirt they owned as a kid, a memorable tournament or simply a design they’ve always wanted.
That’s one of the things I like most about them.
Two shirts can look almost identical on a rail, but to the people buying them they can mean completely different things.
Football Finds is built around finding those shirts and getting them back into the hands of people who actually want them.
Rather than focusing entirely on brand-new kits, a huge part of what we do revolves around pre-owned football shirts.
There are thousands of genuine football shirts sitting in wardrobes, drawers and collections that somebody else would happily wear.
Finding them is a big part of the business.
How Did Football Finds Begin
Football Finds began from my bedroom, packing orders on top of my bed. At the beginning we had 1 or 2 shirts in stock at a time. This helped me to appreciate the respect that football shirts should be treated with. As we only had very little amounts of stock to begin with, 100% of effort was put on customer service helping to build the foundations for our loyal customer base.
It is no secret that I began Football Finds at the age of 16. For many this was met with shock and doubt. Surely a 16 year old couldn't successfully run a business. To be brutally honest with you, I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but sale by sale I began to learn. Balancing Football Finds alongside my studies was definitely not easy, but seeing this entity that I had built from the ground grow and grow in size is a level of rewarding that I can simply not describe.
